Food hear was great home style food and service was a great lad working hard. They had games for all ages and a gift shop area to. Then for the people like me who like to drink they had a small bar and Plenty of drinks.

The proportions and menu have gotten smaller. I guess that's par with the times. It seems though that more emphasis has been set on the bar instead of the restaraunt. It's the last one remaining in these parts. I missed the big greasy steaks and the appetizer trio.

It's in an old building built in 1889. They also sell numerous items upfront along with good food. The country fried steak is pretty good. The small size portion is just the right size. Reasonable priced. A good place to go to experience open dining.

We went during lunch in the place wasn't that busy and I can understand why. The place is freezing cold and uncomfortable. The waitress took our order and over 30 minutes we still did not have any food. We told the owner on our way out its lunchtime and we cant wait any longer she wanted us to wait and see if our order was coming abd i said no. She even tried to make us pay for our drinks. We wont be going back.

The thing that keep me coming back is the fried mushrooms. They are unequivocally the best I have had anywhere. The restaurant itself is undergoing construction due to a traffic accident but don't let that scare off. The rest of the food is comfort food.

CHICKEN FRY AND FRENCH FRIES WERE GOLDEN AND SERVED IN LARGE QUANTITIES. SALAD WAS COOL AND FRESH. LARGE SOFT DINNER ROLLS LIKE NO OTHER SERVES IN AREA.YOUNG MALE WAITER WAS FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT. HE DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AND WAS PLEASED TO TIP HIM GENEROUSLY.TIP: Would have enjoyed some tomato on the salad.

Service was slow and poor. Waited to long for drinks and silverware, my silverware and napkins didn’t come till after my meal was served. The ham was over cooked on the sandwiches, missing/incorrect sides, cold sides. Chicken fried steak was good! Addressed this situation to managers, just as a “hey, we are from out of town here were a few issues, you should know about.” I went to the front counter at a tacky retail stand with dream catchers and lightbulbs to be greeted by a man who was in his 70’s at least. To him, trying to intimidate a customer with pride as big as they come. He had assuredly never had “any complaints!” I asked for an itemized receipt as he snatched my debit card from my hand. I demanded at this point for an itemized receipt once again since he had my card at this point- or for my card back and he nearly refused. He was wildly inappropriate, unprofessional and a much disappointment. A man of his age should never act so in the presence of a woman especially.

I have made 2 different pick up orders from here this past week-weekend. (Saturday and today) both orders have been terribly awful. One had an undercooked baked potato but still tried it anyway and it was bad! Steak had gristle in every bite and no flavor. The other order was catfish and it was undercooked and very soggy! My family and I have ate at this restaurant for years, but will not be back again.
